Choosing a Teak parquet means combining functionality and aesthetics.
Extremely resistant, it adapts perfectly to any environment, illuminating spaces and creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The play of light and dark shades make it unmistakable and give movement and dynamism to the surfaces, giving life to intimate and exclusive contexts.
Due to its intrinsic characteristics, Teak parquet can also be installed in delicate rooms such as the bathroom or for outdoor flooring, such as pool edges, terraces, patios and gardens.
Teak wood is obtained from a tropical tree called Tectona Grandis, typical of Southeast Asia, and was imported to Europe for its unparalleled properties of water repellency and strength, necessary for the shipbuilding industry. Subsequently, it also found use in furniture and in the production of coatings.
Of the different types of Asian Teak, Alma floor usually prefers Indonesian Teak parquet: typical of the forests or plantations of Burma, it is more ecological than the famous Burna Teak, which is at risk of extinction. and has soft veins, capable of adapting to the modern style as well.
Then there is also the African Teak, coming from slow growing plantations. Compared to the Asian one, it is drier, does not have water-repellent qualities and requires subsequent treatments such as common wood.
The ancient Teak is also very interesting, obtained from the recovery of boards mostly used in the construction of the typical houses of the Indonesian archipelago and of the central area of the island of Jawa. For our Sari, Guinea and Sumatra models we only use the boards to obtain an original patina face, so as not to lose the signs of aging that make this collection unique.
Find out why to choose this wooden floor with our short guide on Teak Parquet.
Parquet Teak is an extremely resistant floor.
The porosity and the content of oily resin make it water-repellent, immune to parasites, resistant to thermal variations and atmospheric agents, without further treatments.
It is resistant to bending, shocks and is characterized by high stability, avoiding the risk of any deformation.
It is the perfect parquet for those who want a floor that can last over time, even in rooms with high humidity such as the bathroom and kitchen, or for those who want to cover outdoor spaces with a robust and natural material.
Alma Floor uses Teak Parquet for the flooring of pool edges, terraces, patios and gardens.
Find out how to use Teak Parquet for your outdoor area.
The Color of the Teak Parquet and its appearance greatly depend on the origin of the wood: the area, the climate, the exposure affect the characteristics of the essence, making it original and unrepeatable.
Usually, it has straight fiber, fine texture and irregular and marked veins.
The nuances of color can vary a lot: they range from dark shades tending to black, red or green of the heartwood up to the light yellow and whitish color of the sapwood. However, the color tends to become uniform over time due to oxidation, i.e. the reaction of the wood to exposure to light, becoming golden-brown.
The shades of the Teak Parquet allow to give movement to the surfaces, creating bright and at the same time intimate and welcoming environments.
The Teak Parquet can be used in any room and goes well with any style of furniture, from the most classic to the most modern.
Its characteristic of oiliness to the touch allows it to be laid also outdoors, because it makes it water-repellent and resistant to insects and temperature variations.

An external teak parquet represents the perfect combination of beauty and practicality.
Who doesn't dream of walking barefoot on a wooden floor after a dip in the pool, relaxing on a terrace that extends the living room or reading a book in the garden on a space completely integrated with the landscape?
In fact, the outdoor Teak Parquet is suitable for various outdoor solutions. Minimally invasive in a natural setting, it can be used with a smooth surface or with an exposed surface provided with non-slip knurling, for example for the poolside or for the most exposed balconies, or equipped with an adequate substructure for the driveway and patio.
Precious and elegant, it manages to embellish any architecture, making it sophisticated and refined.
Its golden shades in the sunlight make every space welcoming, creating intimate and exclusive spaces. Its inimitable color fits well with designer vases, armchairs, chairs and dining tables to create convivial and comfortable spaces.
Its resistance to water, humidity, climatic variations and attacks from mold and insects make it the ideal material for outdoor flooring, a guarantee of stability and durability over time.

The installation of Teak Parquet for interiors can be glued or floating.
The glued installation is carried out by gluing the slats directly on a solid, dry, clean and flat screed. In the case of underfloor heating, it will be essential to use eco-friendly glues, to avoid the emission of toxic substances.
In the floating installation, on the other hand, the slats are simply placed on a laying surface, generally a sound-absorbing mat placed on an existing screed or floor. The slats are tied together by means of a M / F joint and with vinyl glue (to be inserted in the male and female joint). It is recommended in case of underfloor heating, uneven subfloor or to preserve and preserve a precious underlying floor.
The installation of Teak Parquet for outdoor spaces can instead be carried out by laying with visible screws to fix the planks, or by mounting clips screwed to the substructure. The second technique has a more aesthetically pleasing result because it hides the view of the screws. In any case, it will be essential to use stainless steel hardware to avoid the risk of any stains on the wood due to oxidation.
Preventing water stagnation will be another point not to be overlooked: the underlying ground must have the right slope to allow rainwater to drain and the use of spacers will allow better drainage and ventilation.
Our team is at your disposal to advise you on the best installation for your needs.
The maintenance and cleaning of a Teak Parquet are very simple and fast.
As for the interior, some small daily tricks will help to preserve its beauty over time.
The ideal temperature for its storage, for example, should always be between 18 and 21 ° C with a humidity of 50-60%. In rooms more subject to humidity, such as bathrooms and kitchens, it will be essential to avoid stagnant water on the floor and to ventilate the rooms well after a shower or cooking with large quantities of steam to bring the values back to normal.
Ordinary cleaning of the parquet is very simple: it will be sufficient to periodically remove the dust with an antistatic cloth or with a vacuum cleaner with soft bristles and clean the surface with a damp cloth soaked in water and neutral detergent.
As for the exterior, however, if treated properly the Teak Parquet does not require great attention. It can be washed with a brush, high pressure water and occasionally with specific products to restore shine. Avoid direct contact with barbecues and objects that are too hot in order not to damage the surface.
By following these simple suggestions, you can enjoy your Teak Parquet in complete tranquility.
